 TOUR *G* Bracciano lake and its towns [05/12/2004] |

| Pick up in front of your hotel with the car and transfer to Bracciano’s lake far 28 miles in the north of Rome. This area is an important water reserve for its volcanic surrounding territory formed in an old crater. Bracciano is better Known for its castle “Orsini-Odescalchi” built during the second half of 15th century by Napoleone Orsini. This imposing building is open regularly for visits in summer and sometimes music concerts and cultural events are hosted. Then we will take you to Trevignano, one of the most picturesque and unspoiled village of about 4000 inhabitants stretching along the north side of the this lake, also formerly named Lake Sabatino. This village was built in a basalt cliff in a small bay formed by the secondary crater of a sleeping Vulcan. In this region, called “Sabatine”, after the Roman conquest of Veio and Caere in 387, some villas were built. Plunged in the history Trevignano and its pleasant medieval centre welcomes the visitors in a magical atmosphere created by water of the lake and its limpid colours. Then we will continue to Anguillara, in the past called “Angularia”because of an ancient roman villa positioned exactly on a right corner of the same lake. It is a journey through history, nature and tasty cuisine. Then you will enjoy your lunch in a local restaurant with a view on the lake. |
